The German state of Hessen has awarded Adaptive Balancing Power (ABP) with their State Award for Energy. The former team of researchers from the technical university of Darmstadt have developed two market-ready kinetic energy storage and charging stations, the Amperage AC and DC. If you want to read more about the products of ABP, you can read this German news article.
ABP's kinetic storage and charging stations have also been part of a yearlong pilot project for fast-charging e-busses. The project aimed to explore the viability of energy- and cost-efficient high speed chargers for public transport networks. The CEO of the local public transport company of Gersprenztal, where the pilot project took place, labelled the project a massive success. The maintenance of kinetic chargers proved more cost-efficient and the company is planning to move on from the pilot project with permanent use of kinetic chargers.
